On Sunday, November 4, more than 600 runners and walkers will take to the streets of historic Lexington, Massachusetts in the 17th Annual Genesis Battlegreen Run. Since its inception, this race has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue to support the efforts of the Genesis Community Fund in Lexington, Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, the Ovarian Cancer Education Awareness Network (OCEAN) at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Pauline Briggs Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The day’s events include three races – the Boston Volvo Family Fun Run, the Ralph Lord Memorial 5K and the Genesis Battlegreen Run 10K. Since 1996, Genesis HR Solutions has been proud to be the lead sponsor for this event that attracts runners from throughout the region to what has become one of the premier racing events in New England.
Nixon Peabody, LLP and Kayem Foods are gold sponsors of the event and are joined by more than 60 other businesses who provide financial support or food for a one-of-a-kind race reception for the runners and the many volunteers. Rene Rancourt, soloist for the Boston Bruins, sings the national anthem before the race followed by the roar of musket fire, courtesy of the Lexington Minutemen, to send the runners on their way.
