Since 1996, the annual GenesisHR Battlegreen Run has raised funds for affordable housing, college scholarships, cancer research, and many other causes. Each fall, more than 1,000 runners and walkers participate in the run, which is held in the heart of historic Lexington, Massachusetts.
In support of this effort, our employees helped form the Battlegreen Run Foundation, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that provides a platform for other nonprofits who use our race to raise funds and awareness for their missions as well.
Proceeds from this event also support our legacy partners – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Boston, the Ovarian Cancer Education Awareness Network, the Pauline Briggs Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Genesis Community Fund, and other very worthy causes.
Each year, Genesis HR employees are offered one paid community service day to serve however they choose—in the past, our team members have delivered turkey meals on Thanksgiving day, assisted at local food banks, and delivered flowers for local nursing homes for the day of service.
In addition, our employees and our company give both time and financial support and participate in numerous charitable organizations and causes important to them. Our team members are proud to support causes like Habitat for Humanity, Burlington Public Schools donations/support, Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham, Fed Up With Cancer, and more.
“For us, identifying needs of our community and finding ways to make an impact is not only the right thing to do, it just makes good sense. Being an active and proud member of our community is an integral part of the fabric of GenesisHR and will always be a cornerstone of who we are as a company.”
Bob Burbidge, CEO
Hooray! GenesisHR is born as Genesis Employment Services. Our goal? Be a new kind of regional HR partner: one that demonstrates in everything that we do how much we truly care about our client’s business and their employees.
Everybody needs a rebrand every now and then. In ‘92, we became Genesis Consolidated Services, Inc. to encompass all of our unique offerings.
‘96 was the year of the first-ever GenesisHR Battlegreen Run in Lexington, Massachusetts. The run has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local chartities. Learn more about the Battlegreen Run here.
In ‘96, we earned our Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC) accreditation. The gold standard for PEO best practices and
financial reliability. We’ve been a proud ESAC-accredited PEO ever since, and we are part of the 5% in the industry that has it!
GenesisHR founder Bob Burbidge was named president of The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO)—a huge nod to our company and Bob’s leadership in the industry.
Our company’s growth meant a new name was in order. In 2012, we officially became Genesis HR Solutions Inc., and we moved to our new headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Our team helped pass a change in the New Hampshire Business Enterprise Tax Credit Regulation (BET) to allow clients, not their PEOs, to claim the BET tax credits against their business profits. You can learn more about our work with that policy here.
The Small Business Efficiency Act (SBEA) became law. Today, this legislation means that PEOs are recognized on a federal level and is a huge win for PEOs and their clients. You can learn more about this legislation here.
2016 meant two and a half decades of providing PEO services and helping our client’s businesses thrive, one employee at a time. To celebrate this milestone we enjoyed a fun-filled weekend in Stowe, Vermont with the entire GenesisHR team.
In 2017, we received our certified professional employer organization (CPEO) status. To become and remain certified under the CPEO Program, CPEOs must meet tax status, background, experience, business location, financial reporting, bonding and other requirements outlined in the statute and regulations.
We’re proud to celebrate yet another longevity milestone and sharing that with some of our very first clients who remain with us today.
