The Genesis Community Fund awarded two scholarships at the Lexington PTA Council Scholarship Committee Annual Awards Night which was held on June 5, 2012 at the Lexington Town Hall.
Erika Yiu, a sophomore Accounting major at Syracuse University, was a recipient of the award for the second consecutive year. The other recipient was Taylor Lahiff, a recent graduate of Lexington High School and an elected Town Meeting Member. She will attend Merrimack College in the fall as a Political Science Major. Genesis HR Solutions headquarters were located in Lexington from 1991 to 2004.
The Genesis Community Fund was founded in 1996 to provide scholarship and human service assistance to residents of Lexington. The primary source of funding is provided with proceeds from the Genesis Battlegreen Run, a 5K and 10K road race which is held annually on the first Sunday on November. Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston and other charities are also benefit from the event.
