Here are this week’s links to a few good stories that we found and selected because we feel they might add valuable insights and perspectives for small to medium size businesses.

  •  David Mielach, a staff writer for Business News Daily wrote an interesting piece on how companies that adopt eco-friendly policies have more productive employees.  Some claim that this increase in productivity can increase by as much as 16%.  Read more in Want to Improve Productivity?  Go Green.  This article was also posted by an always reliable resource for small business, Exabyzness.com.
  • Brandon Hinkle, CEO of PluraFinancial.com appeared on a segment of “Where’s the Money?” on MSNBC with host J.J. Ramberg.  His focus was to discuss how to take advantage of the availability of capital through the Small Business Administration (SBA).  The key takeaway here is that the SBA doesn’t loan the money, but they do back it through approved lenders.  This short video, which aired yesterday, Applying for SBA Loans gives a nice summary of how the SBA Loan program works.
  • Lastly the Wall Street Journal publishes a How-To Guide for Small Business.  It includes tips and advice on a wide variety of topics from many of the WSJ reporters and columnists.
