- The Affordable Care Act required that businesses with less than 50 employees were limited on deductible plans that could be offered. Initially, qualified businesses could offer plans that did not exceed a deductible limit of $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for families. That has all changed as the result of “doc-fix” signed into law on April 1st. This change, which received bi-partisan support, removes restrictions on deductible limits. While small businesses will benefit, their employees may not due to higher costs.
