Here are this week’s links to a few good stories that we found and selected because we feel they might add valuable insights and perspectives for small to medium size businesses.

  • Our first recommendation comes from Patty Azzarello who writes for TLNT – The Business of HR.  In The Secret to Time Management? Delegate Almost Everything, she has some interesting suggestions (in the form of two exercises) which hopefully would lead those among us who do not delegate nearly enough to “Identify what you should (or want) to be doing, make time to do it and do it!”
  • If there is one component of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that we can all support would be to encourage wellness programs.  Sharlyn Lauby, writing for Open Forum has some suggestions on how businesses might use social media as a strategy.  Read Can These 5 Social Apps Boost Employee Health and Wellness? and see if any of the apps make sense for your company.  They do indeed look interesting.
  • Rhonda Abrams (USA Today) produced a list of strategic suggestions in Small Business Strategies: 10 ways to make more money.  Most of the suggestions look like they make sense to all businesses and my guess is that all of us could identify with at least a few of them.  My only suggestion would be to put #10 (Make a plan) at the top of the list.
