In less than one month, more than 600 runners and walkers will fill the historic streets of Lexington, Massachusetts for one of the most popular road races in New England. We anticipate that the 19th Annual Genesis Battlegreen Run which takes place on Sunday, November 2, will be our best year yet! This event has truly become a Lexington tradition and we are looking forward to spending the day with the Lexington community.
Since its inception in 1996, this race has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of the local charities, Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, the Ovarian Cancer Education Awareness Network (OCEAN) at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Pauline Briggs Scholarship Fund and the Genesis Community Fund. To increase revenue generated for these worthy charities, we now use FirstGiving as another way to raise funds specifically for Habitat for Humanity. We encourage all participants to create a FirstGiving page to help with the Genesis Battlegreen Run fundraising efforts. All proceeds from FirstGiving directly benefit Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston. Registration begins at 9:30 am and the day includes 4 events :

This race event is unlike any other racing event from start to finish. Rene Rancourt, voice of the Boston Bruins, sends the runners off with a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, accompanied by musket fire, courtesy of the Lexington Minutemen. Another signature component of this event is the post-race ceremony. Runners, walkers, volunteers, friends and family are encouraged to join us after the race for live music, awards and a taste of our local food fair. A variety of food options have been generously donated by many local restaurants and food vendors.
We are excited to announce the entertainment that has been added to the Genesis Battlegreen Run this year. Our live music will be performed by a local band, the Road Apples. They will be performing a variety of bluegrass and folk tunes from 11-12 pm and again after the races commence.

Online registration has closed. Entries will be accepted by mail through 11/01/14 or in person at Greater Boston Running Company – 1798 Mass Ave Lexington from noon – 4 pm on Saturday 11/01/14. Race day registration will commence at 9:30 am Sunday 11/02/14.
