This week, we are suggesting just one link, this one courtesy of Exabyzness Their website offers valuable insights and perspectives for small business. This week, they referenced Business Insider, which authored a very good report on 20 “big trends” that they believe are taking place and will have significant impact on American business. I thought they were all good, but here are a few that caught my eye:
- America is aging (#2)
- The epic rise of student loan debt (#5)
- The US energy boom (#6)
- A new healthcare mandate (#9)
- Agriculture and climate change (#15)
If you have the time, you might want to check them all out. If I had to pick one, it would likely be “America is aging”. The fact that 59% of all Americans over the age of 55 have less than $100,000 saved for retirement is a sobering statistic and greatly underscores the need for 401(k) participation. For small businesses, an employer sponsored 401(k) plan can be a great incentive and will go a long way to attract and retain great employees.
